Throughout this project we needed to create a contemporary art piece representing a message of our choice. I learned alot about patience and coming to compromises within my group. We esspecially had trouble discussing what the size of the final structure would be. Our scultpure was of two human-like figures standing in a circle of hands. The figures were constructed from paper mache, pvp pipe, wire, and plaster. We had a alot of fun making it and experienced tons of new things. My group and I are very proud of the final product and our communication skills that were displayed at exhibition. I personally spoke with alot of people ans saw many interesting art pieces. IfI could go back, the only thing I would do differently is spend more time practicing and preparing. I deserve a good grade for the project. I dressed professionally and spoke confidently. I believe I excelled in terms of my speaking skills.
Inspiration Art Pieces
For this assignment, I needed to find an artist that I admired and and paint an art piece inspired by that artist. I chose someone that I had been following for about a few months now that goes by @Svvshi on Instagram. They are absolutely one of my favorite artists and I actually got to tell them about the art piece through social media once I was finished! Although there are definitely parts I would have improved if I had more time, I think this marks a big step in my art skills. I got to mess around with a medium I rarely work with, I got to practice shading, I got to work on small detail since the canvas was bigger than the usual art I create. I would love to do more projects like this in the future and I'm extremely proud of the final product.
Ideal Zoom Meeting
The goal of this assignment was to draw your ideal zoom meeting with 15 other participants. I had a lot of fun with this assignment and trying to remember and then draw the most absurd characters I could think of. I even went as far as drawing the state of Ohio. I had so much fun with this project and I really hope we do more like this in the future. Due to my pride, I got a little carried away and spent around 6 hours on this assignment in total. I tried to mix in characters that seem a little more normal and dull so my crazy characters would stand out more. For example I added my cousin Mark, Steve Harvey, Adam Driver, etc because those are either boring people or who people would actually someone would actually want to meet.
In this assignment, similar to the Inspirational Paintings, we had to find an art piece that inspired us and give our special twist to it. We were told to do this by recreating the piece in real life. Some people did statues, other people did simple still life, I thought it would be best to use a ton of face paint to recreate a portrait done my one the most popular and bold artists in history, Pablo Picasso. I chose the painting, A Head of a Woman in a Hat. I had just recently got the face paints and had never used them before. I saw this as yet another interesting opportunity to explore different mediums: the paint of course and my face acting as the canvas. I was very fun to bring such an interesting portrait to life, Almost scary. I think if I had a bit more experience, it could have come out a bit more clean but I am very proud of my first ever attempt at face paint.
